NIAGARA FALLS, NY - An additional 50 - 60 gallons of oil has been found in the a sewer pipe along Niagara Falls Boulevard, according to a spokesperson for the Niagara Falls mayor.

The discovery comes just days after a 500 gallon spill of waste oil into Cayuga Creek in Niagara Falls. This is now part of a criminal investigation. Niagara Falls Mayor Paul Dyster confirmed that the Department of Environmental Conservation along with local police are working the case.

Investigators spent a lot of time around Delta Sonic on Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Falls on Wednesday, July 20 and Thursday, July 21. "What may or may not be present in the sewer pipe between Delta Sonic and the place where the spill was discovered," is a focus said Dyster.

"If there's a company that's sitting in a boardroom trying to figure out what to do about this, if you made a mistake, come clean, admit responsibility, pay for your mistake and let's get on with it," said the Mayor.

The DEC Spill response team worked with a plumbing company using a specialized camera to go underground. The video allows investigators to hopefully pinpoint a source.

The DEC calls this an ongoing investigation. Delta Sonic said they are working with the DEC, but maintain they had no oil leaks at this location. They are not claiming any responsibility.
